Meet Cheye

Meet Cheye

Cheye graduated from La Trobe University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Health Sciences and Master of Speech Pathology. She has worked in a variety of settings including community health (early intervention), acute care, sub-acute rehabilitation, outpatient therapy, residential care, palliative care and home-based services.

She has worked in both regional and metropolitan public hospitals, having spent several years working in East Gippsland where she provided outreach services to vulnerable and isolated communities.

Cheye has particular interest in working in neuropalliative care and offers a warm, practical and client centred approach to those diagnosed with life limiting neurologic diseases. This includes ongoing assessment of swallowing and communication changes, and set up and customisation of alternative communication supports where verbal communication may no longer be possible.

Cheye also has extensive experience and interest in working with adults affected by stroke or brain injury. She is committed to providing meaningful, evidence based and tailored therapy to support her clients to participate as fully as possible in their lives.

Outside of work, Cheye enjoys spending quality time with her husband and kids. She has two young children, a beloved retired therapy dog Polly, and a naughty horse called Zeke.
